SPERO CBD

RESCUE & SHELTER DONATION PROGRAM

Research indicates that CBD can benefit pets in several ways and may be particularly helpful for animals in a shelter environment, especially as fear of strange people, animals or situations is all too common for rescue and shelter residents. At Spero, we’re committed to helping rescue animals find their forever home. This is why we’re donating Spero CBD Pet Treats valued at more than $12,000 to shelter and rescue programs across the country each year.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Spero Rescue & Shelter Donation Program is an annual donation program open to animal shelters and rescue programs regardless of size. We’re looking for applicants interested in an ongoing partnership designed to support a CBD wellness regimen. Donation requests for the 2021 program must be submitted before May 28, 2021. Recipients will be notified in June, 2021. A total of six animal shelter or rescue locations will receive one bulk donation (2lbs) of Spero Pet Treats valued at $2,000. Shelter and Rescue Program applicants must be located within the United States.

CBD can provide significant health benefits for your canine companion. CBD can boost CB1 receptors (the area of the brain involved in stress and fear) and produce a calming effect. Spero CBD Pet Treats have been expertly formulated and are full of flavor and nutritional value. Our pet treats are also THC-free, organically-produced and made in the USA.

PROGRAM APPLICATION

You should not be giving your dog CBD to specifically address or treat health problems. CBD is a food supplement designed for general wellbeing and should only be taken with this in mind. We do not yet have substantial evidence to suggest that CBD can improve the health of dogs or treat specific ailments they may be suffering from. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated some positive findings but veterinarians are still reluctant to say that CBD is anything more than a food supplement for general wellbeing.

We can understand the position of veterinary boards. The main concern is that dog owners will start administering CBD products to their dogs in the hope they will treat specific ailments. In reality, there could be medicines for specific ailments on the market that would be far more effective for dogs to take. Scientists are still trying to understand the particular strengths of CBD and how it could potentially be used to increase a dog’s quality of life.
